Conclusions and implications for food and agricultural policy in the process of accession to the EU.

A set of issues which may be particularly relevant in the context of preparing for and implementing the accession of the CEECs to the EU in the agricultural sector are described. These issues include: reforms and CEEC agricultural transition; price and trade policies; structural change and productivity in agriculture; market structure and competitiveness in the food industry and retail business; and implications of extending the CAP to CEECs.
