An overview of the Policy Information System for Agricultural Sectors in Transition Economies is presented. Following a brief description of the concept, general characteristics such as methods, techniques, and organization of the information system is then described. A country by country overview of developments in the crop and animal production sectors is given for the following cases: Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic and Slovak Republic.
