The impacts of the arable crop regime on pesticide use within the EU are assessed and the potential implications of policy change for environmental quality are discussed. Following an introduction, sections cover: agricultural support and pesticide usage; applied theory - overview of the literature; effects of policy reform on pesticide use; and farm level modelling of the effects of agricultural liberalization on pesticide use.
