Tourism in marine protected areas.

This chapter focuses on how to manage tourism and recreation in coastal and marine reserves. Coastal and marine environments provide special challenges to tourism and recreation planners. These problems are outlined, followed by examples of how these challenges have been addressed in Tanzania, Netherlands Antilles, Kenya, and Indonesia. An outline of various tourism activities in marine protected areas is also provided along with a description of their related ecological, socioeconomic, and cultural impacts.
