Customer satisfaction.

This chapter focuses on how quality is judged by customers and monitored by an organization. It is noted that in the tourism and leisure industry, as in any business, having satisfied customers are more economical in the long run as they not only generate repeat business but they also recommend the service to others. The chapter discusses the difference between service quality and customer satisfaction; examines how judgments on service quality and customer satisfaction are formulated and what can influence them; and analyses how the heterogeneity of individuals, both front-line staff and customers, impacts customer satisfaction and its significance to operators. Customer satisfaction is explored.
