Chemical and integrated weed management in olive orchards.

This chapter describes the effects of soil characteristics (soil texture and organic matter), irrigation system and age of the orchard on weed management using herbicides in olive orchards. Different types of herbicides used and their modes of action are described. The integrated method of weed control, which is the combination of chemical, biological, cultural, and mechanical methods, is highlighted. Future perspectives of integrated weed management are given.
