Andean tubers and roots and crops of the Lamiaceae and Apiaceae.

This chapter focuses on the tropical production of the following eight crop species known collectively as Andean tubers and roots, i.e. Oxalis tuberosa, Ullucus tuberosus, Tropaeolum tuberosum, Mirabilis expansa, Lepidium meyenii, Solanum × juzepczukii and Solanum × curtilobum, Arracacia xanthorrhiza and Canna edulis. Also included at the end of this chapter are other vegetables in the Lamiaceae and Apiaceae; these crops are not regarded as Andean tubers.
