The institutional framework of Serbia and Serbian agriculture.

This chapter describes the current institutional framework of the Serbian agricultural sector, beginning with a brief account of the key historical developments that have influenced this framework. Specifically, it examines institutional developments that have implications for the alignment of Serbian agricultural institutions with those of the EU, with the aim of providing insights relevant to Serbia's possible accession to the EU and to expectations of future developments. The chapter covers: natural resource institutions; the knowledge and innovation system; financial institutions; cooperatives and farmers' organizations; and agricultural policy implementation institutions.
