Chapter 14 (Page no: 237)

Lessons learnt and the way forward for research on climate change in Tanzania.

The research themes in this volume have focused on impacts of climate change, vulnerability and resilience of ecosystems and communities to climate change. Other key sub-themes have been community access, control, and rights to climate information, importance of integration of indigenous and scientific knowledge in weather forecasting, participation of communities in decision making, and gender roles in response to impacts of climate change in various areas of mainland Tanzania. This last chapter of the book synthesizes the lessons learnt from the reported case studies and tries to chart out a road map for future research on climate change in Tanzania.
