Chapter 3 (Page no: 24)

The Pyrenean co-principality of Andorra.

This chapter describes the unique characteristics of the microstate of Andorra and how it has utilized its matchless situation to become a success story among the mini microstates of Europe. Despite the obstacles the Pyrenees Mountains create for access and infrastructure development in the co-principality, the very same montane topography provides the essential foundation for its tourism success and its unique sense of self and national solidarity. Its special relationship with France and Spain has enabled a thriving cross-border flow of regional tourism.
