Sales & Marketing Activities

CABI is a truly global organization, with channels to market your book to its target audience worldwide. Each book receives a tailored promotional campaign consisting of a variety of activities, as outlined below.

In addition to this, you can help increase exposure of your book by alerting us to any conferences you are attending, societies you have connections with, or any other ideas you may have!

An individual leaflet promoting your title will be mailed to a combination of existing customers, institutions and libraries, and members of relevant societies. Your book will also be included in our annual books catalogue, subject brochures and relevant cluster leaflets.

We are constantly developing our email marketing processes. Alerts will be sent to existing lists of interested parties both 3 months prior to, and on publication. Your book may also be included in our quarterly CABI News or in other subject based mailings.

Our online bookshop contains detailed information on each book, including cover image, description and full contents list.

Where there is interest, we will also try to promote your book through other relevant websites, and are happy to set up links with any author's web-pages.

For key titles, we may organise advertising with selected external publications and where possible liase with societies to inform their members of new titles.

We attend a variety of conferences throughout the year in both a delegate and exhibitor capacity. At conferences where we have an exhibitor presence we will promote books through posters, leaflets and where possible delegate packs. We also sell books at selected conferences through the year.

Upon publication, review copies of your book will be offered to relevant journals. Any quotes from reviews will be used on future promotional material and on our website. Review requests can be sent to the publishing marketing team at
