Culture Collection: Microorganism Supply

The unique properties and capabilities of microorganisms found in the CABI (IMI) Culture Collection can be utilized for drug and active molecule discovery and as part of the research, testing and quality control programmes linked with production and manufacturing. Our terms and conditions allow for taxonomic and molecular study, assay and testing, research and teaching. Terms can also be arranged for cultures used in commercial products.

  • Filamentous fungi and yeasts.
  • Plant pathogenic bacteria.
  • Biocontrol agents belonging to these groups.
  • Production strains for enzymes, metabolites, active biomolecules and novel products. 
  • Authenticated reference, type and test strains for businesses and research establishments.
  • ISO846, BS2011 Part II j and Mil Std 810G test strains from the European, the UK and US testing standards and other test and challenge strains.
  • Active cultures on agar plates or slopes, grown and quality checked for you by our expert mycologists.
  • Freeze-dried cultures in ampoules for storage and growing yourself.
  • DNA and culture extracts for ease of use or where containment facilities for the living culture are more demanding.
  • All items supplied in secure UN3373 approved packaging.
  • Freeze-dried cultures dispatched within three working days.
  • Actively growing culture dispatched within one month. Note: Due to the variable nature of some microorganisms, it may take longer to obtain an active culture; customers will be advised if this is the case.
